In the outskirts of Ramallah, I struck a boulder with a sledgehammer in the summer heat till I was too exhausted to continue. The blunt bell of metal on stone rings with each strike. The call to prayer blasts from loudspeakers in the near distance. The repetitive action evokes Palestinians’ tireless struggle for survival.
